I forgot how long January was. I felt like it was going on forever, and then I blinked and it sped past in a blur. So I’ll give you a run down of what happened and what to expect over the next couple of posts.
Well my TBR list wasn’t fulfilled all the way through last term. I seemed to forget that I been brought lots of books for Christmas and wanted to read them all! I managed two of my list which were:
It was also the launch of me and my friends book club, The Monster Goddess Book Club. The book last month was The Book Thief.
The second installment of the MG Book Club, the book of the month is Young Adult so we are reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.
Two new releases are being reviewed this month…
Teeth by Chele Cooke – I’m really enjoying this so far. Its very different from all of the Vampire novels out there at the moment. I’ll be reviewing it on the 22nd.
Medical intern Thomas awakes in a blood-drenched basement and the realisation that his life must change forever. After all, how can he practise medicine when the smell of blood turns him into a vicious killer? Spencer thinks being a vampire is better than any teen movie made it out to be. Now he must train Thomas and make his mentor proud. One mistake risks more than either are willing to lose, and a single broken law could turn them from predators to prey.
Cortlandt Boys by Laura Vanderkam – This is a very interesting read, a little of everything all thrown together. It should be reviewed on he 19th.
A small town high school basketball team wins the Pennsylvania state championship with an improbable last second three point shot. The Cortlandt Cavaliers celebrate their unlikely victory, but good fortune changes the boys’ worlds in unpredictable ways. This story revisits the characters 10 and 20 years later as the ramifications of their youthful success play out over the course of their lives, forever linking them and the people around them to this little town that has its ways of not quite letting you go.
Monster Goddess Book Club – This month the theme is Young Adult, and we are reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, the meeting should be up on the 28th.
And the sneak peak for the Book of the Month for March is a first in the series in which we will reading Rivers of London.
Not quite ready yet…
Blue Sun, Yellow Sky by Jaime Hoang – This book is going to be released in April, but the trailer was released today, so I’ll give you all a sneak peak and can tell you that is definitely worth the wait. The review will be up Late March or Early April.
This post went on a bit of ramble, but I hope you all stayed with me there! See you later this week for a review.
